Apologies for the late notice, we’ve been busy in Windhoek at the very successful Namibian Closed, details of which will be revealed once we’ve attended to the more pressing issue of the Social League - Round 2. If you’re not playing, please note the days of the league so you don’t try and play on those nights; but do come down to the courts anyway because it’s fun.

Changes
You will notice some splendid changes (we think) that will make the matches closer and the competition between teams a little bit tighter. The big change is that each team will have a turn playing twice in one night. Fear not, those with younguns to rush home to, the finishing
time will not be that much later because a) the teams are smaller and b) the second match can use both courts.

We had to shuffle the teams to cater for withdrawals (hurry back Karl), new players (welcome Graham) and to even up the competition a bit. The drawback is we can’t use the first round results (do you think the losing team has a hand in this?) but we can use the results in the event of a tie. So for all intents and purposes round 2 is Sudden Death Social Squash…

Please check this schedule carefully. If you can’t play a match you can arrange to play it another time before the fixture. If you need to play early or late, you can arrange this with your opponent. Let’s try and have 100% turnout. If you absolutely can’t play a match please let us know as soon as possible so we can arrange substitutes.

NB Friday 15 August will be the grand finale with a small gathering
arranged afterwards. Keep the evening free if you can.
